OpenCSV Demo public beta

Privacy disclosures

OpenCSV Demo is an independently built, signet-only research fork of Signal. This page explains the data paths introduced or inherited by the beta.

Effective August 11, 2026

OpenCSV wallet data

Wallet keys, Test USD state, operation journals, and Bitcoin fee-reserve state are stored on your device and in the recovery mechanisms you enable. OpenCSV does not operate a bespoke wallet or anchor server.

Do not use this beta for real funds. Test USD has no monetary or redemption value and is permanently bound to Bitcoin signet.

Public Bitcoin observers

The beta queries public signet services, including mempool.space and Blockstream, to observe transactions. Those services may receive your IP address, requested Bitcoin addresses or transaction identifiers, request timing, and ordinary HTTP metadata under their own policies.

OpenCSV transaction records and signet transactions are public by design. Do not treat signet activity as anonymous.

Messaging and device data

The app inherits Signal account registration, encrypted messaging, contact discovery, attachment transport, local database, and permission flows. Signal infrastructure and Apple services may process data required for those features under their respective policies.

This build is not produced, endorsed, or supported by Signal Messenger, LLC, and it does not receive Signal's production push-notification entitlement.

TestFlight and feedback

Apple may provide beta installation, device, crash, screenshot, and tester-feedback data through TestFlight. If you submit feedback or a crash report, its contents are shared with the Apple developer account operating this beta and used to diagnose the test build.
